Indian elite's delusional quest for superpower status? Mars mission and dire poverty.

The launch of the Mars probe from India marked many changes, foremost, it established to the world that India was capable of launching its own interplanetary mission, but it opened a window to a host of new questions that were to be answered.

Can India, which has the largest percentage of the poorest people afford to fund interplanetary flights when it actually needs huge investments to save its children from malnutrition and hunger.

Looking at the statistics, be it anything from percentage of people living as bonded labor, child mortality and malnutrition, it is easy it say that the priorities are misplaced.

The basic amenities for living:

1.) Food
2.) Healthcare
3.) Employment

is not assured by the Indian government.

A mission to mars by India doesn't really have anything new to offer. Mars has already been explored time and over again.

Why then should millions of dollars be spent on glorifying the nation ?
