Pretty much every internet vegan (western ones) I have encountered is haughty, foul mouthed and a zealot.
This is not the same for vegans whom I met in real life.
This might be because this vegan bandwagon started as a group in the west, where society is centered around industrial meat shops, which they are struggling to fight.
I like eating lacto-vegetarian myself. Also, we have a good choice of fruits or vegetables in India and proper recipes involving various cooking methods to make the food tasty - which could be anything between bitter gourds to sweet potatos.
What I feel is wrong in the western approach to veganism is :-
1.) Using soya to make 'meat-like' food, which is not meat. It is as they cannot stop thinking about eating meat.
2.) Overflowing forums with pictures and spamming, rather than talking about the benefits of vegetarian diet.
3.) The fanatic zeal to spread the meme.
The western vegan approach is NOT the sole approach towards a sustainable environment.
They are like - Just try our soya based meat, it is just like meat, but not meat. It is as they are trying to sell their ideology like selling a detergent.
Basically their method of promoting themselves is no better than islamic radicals or nazis.
